Is God Forming Me?

Jacob’s Portion is not like these because He is the One who formed all things. Israel is the tribe of His inheritance; Yahweh of Hosts is His name. - Jeremiah 51:19

Why would someone, an entire people, exchange the truth of God for a lie?

While we may wonder at the absurdity of such a proposition, we must also acknowledge that historically such an event has repeatedly occurred. It is even possible that this "trade" is a part of your (yes, even my) own personal past.

"Jacob's Portion," by His grace, is also the assured inheritance of the Christ-follower, yet how often have we (as His disciples) wasted our worship on lesser things. Have we been, are we currently, distracted by the sequined pleasures of earthly things, thereby losing focus upon the true Light that shines for all eternity.

Our God is not "formed" by hand, thought, or imagination. He is rather the "Former" of all things.

The question each of us must ask is this, "Is He forming me?"
