Meeting the Need

He took the seven loaves and the fish, and He gave thanks, broke them, and kept on giving them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. - Matthew 15:36

If you have ever watched a cop show on television, then you know that one of the keys to eliminating the drug trade is to get beyond the buyers/dealers to capture the suppliers/producers. Without someone producing and supplying the product, there would be no delivery and, therefore, no consumption.

Every successful enterprise, legal or not, needs good sources.

I don't work for the DEA, but who is your "producer" and "supplier?"When a church looks to its ministries and programs and compares them with the overwhelming needs of its community, what should be the response?

In the second instance of a miraculous feeding, the crowd offered their meager gifts to an omnipotent Savior who in turn worked through food "dealers" (disciples) to provide the necessary (and miraculous) supply of resources. As Christ-followers, may we always look beyond our meager resources to the Great Supplier in whom every resource is found and multiplied for the accomplishment of His purpose.

In Christ, we always have what we always need.
