Boast In This

This is what Yahweh says: The wise must not boast in his wisdom; the mighty must not boast in his might; the rich must not boast in his riches. But the one who boasts should boast in this, that he understands and knows Me -- that I am Yahweh, showing faithful love, justice, and righteousness on earth, for I delight in these things. [This is] Yahweh's declaration. - Jeremiah 9:23-24

Do you like to boast or brag?

I am a grandfather and, therefore, I like to boast about (and also have the God-given right to do so) about my grandchildren. I also like to boast about my kids. They are amazing people. I often boast about my wife. She is precious to me and to our ministry together, as well as a wonderful servant of our Lord. So, about some things, I like to boast. Don't get me wrong, I am well aware of all my family's imperfections, but I am proud of them nonetheless

About what or whom do you like to boast? According to the Bible, we should only boast in the fact that we understand or know the Creator, the I AM, the Self-Existent God; an understanding and knowledge that is, in itself, a gift from God Himself (Eph. 2:8-10)!

May we always boast of Him first, and the work He has done (or is doing) in our lives and in all the rest of those in whom we boast and whom we love.

When boasting ends, there dignity begins. - Owen D. Young
