How You Know

Who put wisdom in the heart or gave the mind understanding? - Job 38:36

Have you ever paused to consider that we have never, ever truly figured out anything on our own? In fact, apart from God, we wouldn't even be able to "consider" anything at all.

God first put wisdom and understanding into the heart and mind of Adam, and from that Garden beginning (though certainly darkened and corrupted by the world) knowledge has been passed down from generation to generation through the ensuing centuries. Even if we do not include within man's accumulated learning, a certain knowledge of God's character and attributes, there remains the fact that we (at least in the developed world) no longer travel by horseback, copy texts by hand, or read by lamplight. These "improvements" were made possible by implanted wisdom and understanding from God!

Yet, in spite of all the 21st century technological advances, in spite of all the information available today, it is still possible for a person to lack wisdom and possess a darkened understanding when it comes to the Almighty. We who are blessed to "know" Christ are keenly aware that such knowledge is an amazing gift not to be wasted or withheld. The wisdom and knowledge of God that we have received must be shared, generation to generation.

If you know, it is because He has caused you to know, so why not help another know what you know, too.
