Therefore, dear friends, while you wait for these things, make every effort to be found in peace without spot or blemish before Him. - 2 Peter 3:14

In 1988, Cindy and I had a clear understanding that we, along with our two children, were to serve the Lord overseas as missionaries. Over the next 19 years, the "children" became adults and gave us grandchildren and other "circumstances" seemed to keep us from taking concrete steps in that direction, but in 2007 we entered a process that placed us firmly on foreign soil, one and a half years later. At times we thought we would never "get there," but the "waiting period" was God's workshop as He worked in each of us to prepare us to be better vessels of His grace to the peoples who needed Him.
So, what are you waiting for? Who are you waiting for? I don't like waiting and I'm guessing you might not like it either, but just know that often in the "waiting" we experience God's work, too.
Never tell a young person that anything cannot be done. God may have been waiting centuries for someone ignorant enough of the impossible to do that very thing. - John Andrew Holmes
