Joy Forever

Many are saying, "Who can show us anything good?" Look on us with favor, Yahweh. You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and new wine abound. I will both lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, Yahweh, make me live in safety. - Psalm 4:6-8

What is the "key" to your happiness?


For many, the key might be a full bank account or success at work, a beautiful home or a new car. For others, happiness might be found in a new relationship, fame, or a feeling that everything is in its place and life is under control.


So, what is your "key?"


It might help to ask yourself this question, "What would drive me to despair if it were taken away?" The answer, my friend, may just be your key.


King David said that God put joy in his heart. His "joie de vivre," his happiness, was found solely in God and his relationship with Him. So, if someone took the bank account, the success, the house, the car, the relationships, the fame, or the control away from you, could you still find happiness in Him?


The beauty of a relationship with Christ is that it can never be taken away, which means joy (something greater than happiness) forever.
