Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him, my Savior and my God. - Psalm 42:11

In days of great difficulty it is easy to feel sorry for yourself and throw a "pity-party," but those who follow Jesus should consider the truth that this might not be the desire of God for their lives. Christ's disciple should realize that their deepest trial is often their greatest opportunity to reveal His indwelling presence.
Of course, we would all agree that this is much easier to proclaim than to possess.
So what can you do? What can I do?
Well, we can remember two very important truths about the Lord. One, He is our salvation, and two, He is God. Many things may change in this world. Most of our circumstances are beyond our control and will not remain static, but these two truths will never change: God's salvation and character.
If you know Jesus as Lord and Savior, you may claim this day, no matter what else may occur, "He is my Savior and my God."
Difficulties are God's errands; and when we are sent upon them, we should esteem it a proof of God's confidence. - Henry Ward Beecher
