One Body In Christ

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know the true One. We are in the true One -- that is, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. - 1 John 5:20

Living and traveling overseas, I have been continuously confronted by the many differences that exist among those who live outside my home nation. The language is different. The culture is different. The clothes are often different. The food is different. In many ways, even the people are different. Almost everything is, well, different from my home.

Almost, but not everything.

In my travels, I have often had opportunities to worship God with other believers and while I have been surrounded by all the differences mentioned above, something was always the same, or should I say Someone. Our Lord and Savior never changes. In the heart of each believer, no matter the location or culture, Christ lives and as John said, "We are in the True One -- that is, in His Son Jesus Christ."

In spite of all the differences, we are truly one Body in Christ.
