I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. - 1 John 5:13

One of the things I sometimes complain about is a lack of proper "signage" in some places (be it a business, hospital, or town). International travel in third-world environments, on the other hand, certainly cut down on that complaining! Signs are necessary because they tell us if our direction is good or bad, right or wrong. They may offer affirmation (keep going) or correction (turn around).
In this way, God's Word is like a sign on the road of life. It tells us if our direction is right or wrong. It often affirms or corrects. If we will just pay attention. Perhaps your "life road" has been difficult and you are asking yourself, "Am I headed in the right direction? Is there a point to this journey?"
Here is a significant "sign" from John. Do you believe in the name of the Son of God? For if you do, then you may absolutely know that you indeed have eternal life! In other words, keep moving, you're headed in the right direction! If not, it is time to turn around!
Don't ignore the signs you asked God to show you. - Unknown
