Tear Them Down

What is an idol?

In many parts of the world, idols are easily identified. Masks, beads, statues, jewelry, even trees are sometimes used as idols for fetish worship. Of course, an idol may be anything a person worships in the place of the one true God. For example, if a person puts their children before God, they are an idol. If a person puts their career before God, it is an idol. If a person puts their spouse or even their church before God, then they are idols, too.

Idols are nothing more than false gods and whereas our God is faithful, idols are not. Whereas our God is holy, idols are not. Whereas our God is omnipotent, idols are not. Whereas our God saves, idols do not.

Guard yourself from idols. Tear them down. Don't follow them.
