To God Be the Glory

What is God up to?

I must confess that when it comes to the multitude of details that make up my life, most of the time I am not real sure! Oh, I have a general idea of where I am going day in and day out, but sometimes the big picture eludes me.

On the other hand, it is comforting to have the spiritual understanding to grasp the unchanging truth that my Creator and Savior knows the end from the beginning and sovereignly works all things according to His will. Thanks to an indwelling Holy Spirit, I can comprehend the truth that God will certainly get the glory He deserves, and if that remains my own consistent and singular aim (i.e., His greatest glory) then I may be assured He and I are headed in the same direction.

"To God be the glory" must be more than a proclamation. It must be the governing principle of our existence.

An infinite God can dispatch the affairs of this universe in the twinkling of an eye, thus giving Him plenty of time for you. - Henry Norris Russell
