Two Places, One Time?

Everyone who remains in Him does not sin; everyone who sins has not seen Him or known Him. - 1 John 3:6

Have you ever wished that you could be in two places at one time?

I think a lot more people would be international missionaries if they could just commute! While Skype certainly lessened the impact of being away from family, my wife and I both wished we could serve in Africa and be with all of them. Yet, it was just not, it still isn't physically possible.

John said that it is also "spiritually impossible" to be in two places at one time. For example, you cannot be in Christ and in sin. He did not say that a person in Christ never sins, but only that a person in Christ will not live a life of sin. To live in a state of continuous sin makes being in Christ impossible. You simply cannot live in both places.

The question is, "Why would anyone who truly loves Jesus want to?"

There are but two places where all go after death, white and black, rich and poor; those places are Heaven and Hell. - Jupiter Hammon
