Walk In His Light

But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. - 1 John 1:7

Some might find it hard to believe, but much of Africa is actually a pretty safe place to live. Of course, as in most major cities (U.S. included) there are places to be avoided, or at least of which to be wary. Also, generally speaking, it is not a good idea to be on any road outside a city after dark. It is a simple task for armed bandits to block the highway and rob travelers. One just needs to be alert, wary, and careful.

Spiritually speaking, it is also a good idea to avoid the "dark." God dwells in unapproachable light and, as John has already reminded us, there is no darkness in Him. It takes diligence to remain (abide) in Christ.

Of course, you may ask, "Are we not supposed to take the light of our Savior into the dark places of this world?". Yes, but we are not to dwell in the spiritual darkness that we are sent to dispel. The one who abides in "darkness" is not courageous. He or she is just courting disaster.

The issue is now clear. It is between light and darkness and everyone must choose their side. - G. K. Chesterton
