When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? - Psalm 11:3

I like to walk for exercise and once upon a time, when I walked, I would listen to talk radio. Unfortunately, after a while I found myself feeling angry, frustrated, and a little depressed as one commentator after another spoke of all that is wrong with our country (morally, economically, and socially) and so I switched to music instead. Though I knew that my righteousness only only resulted from my relationship with Christ, I felt myself identifying with David's frustration in the quote above.
When the foundations are destroyed, what can be done?
Thankfully, David did not stop writing and went on to conclude his song with a sure word of assurance. He said, "For Yahweh is righteous; He loves righteous deeds. The upright will see His face (11:7)."
What can the "righteous" (those clothed in the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ) do when the foundations are destroyed? One, they can promote righteousness in the Body of Christ, and two, they can do what they have always done. They can fix their eyes on Jesus, the Author and the Finisher of true faith. For in His face, His Person, we can find strength, resolve, and peace when the foundations are being destroyed.
These are the times that try men's souls. - Thomas Paine
