While You Wait

I am certain that I will see Yahweh's goodness in the land of the living. Wait for Yahweh; be strong and courageous. Wait for Yahweh. - Psalm 27:13-14

I do not like to hover. Hovering implies activity without movement, action, or apparent progress. It also pictures being outside true achievement and accomplishment while others are more involved. Thankfully, waiting on the Lord is none of these things.
There was significant period of time between Samuel's anointing of David the shepherd and the actual assumption of David's kingly crown. During that time, he was frequently tested (Goliath's challenge, Saul's rage, his own faithfulness and patience; you get the picture).
As it was with David, it is with each of us. There is always movement, action, and progress when you are waiting on the Lord, but it may remain unseen until that moment when the Lord is ready for your waiting to end. In the fullness of His time, the spiritual progress made is clear and the growth applied to the next assignment. God's purposes are ultimately fulfilled.
Be strong and courageous while you wait.
One of the great disadvantages of hurry is that it takes such a long time. - G. K. Chesterton
