You Must Choose

All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin that does not bring death. - 1 John 5:17

Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, but we understand also that the blood of Christ cannot overcome the sin of rejecting the Holy Spirit. If a person chooses to reject the Spirit of God (denies Him), and persists in this rejection, then they are choosing to live a life separated from God forever. There is nothing more that God is able to do to save such a person. They remain in a state of unforgiveness. They cannot be "in Christ," for they remain "in Adam."

This person also lives without hope. For while all unrighteousness is sin, this is the only sin that will keep someone eternally separated from God. So, while we may be guilty of many things (and are), let us be certain that in our acknowledged, sinful condition, we persistently claim the blood of Christ. Our only possibility of life everlasting is in Him!

The only sin that God cannot, will not forgive, is the sin of rejecting His Son Jesus. God's forgiveness is available, but it is not automatic. You must choose to receive this great gift that He offers.

There are four things every person has more of than they know: sins, debt, years, and foes. - Persian Proverb
