A Little Whuppin'

He gave them what they asked for but sent a wasting disease among them. - Psalm 106:15

When the people of Israel grew hungry and complained about it, God gave them manna from heaven. After a while, they got tired of manna and begged God to give them something else to eat. So God "gave them what they asked for, but" also "sent a wasting disease among them." They asked for a blessing but got a whuppin' on the side.

Have you ever wanted something very badly and begged God to give it to you? After you received what you asked for, did you wish you could give it back!? Perhaps the reason God denies us our requests is that He knows us better than we know ourselves. Perhaps we ask with wrong motives. We might even ask with right motives, but in ignorance of the outcome.

Make your requests known to God but trust Him to truly give you what you need, even if what you really need is a little whuppin'.
