If we accept the testimony of men, God's testimony is greater, because it is God's testimony that He has given about His Son. - 1 John 5:9

The strength of a testimony comes from the person who gives it. If the character of a person is dishonest, then their testimony will not be credible. If, on the other hand, a person is known to be honest, then their testimony will usually be considered believable.
For example, we can believe God the Father's testimony, because He is holy, perfect, and righteous. He is also omnipotent; therefore, He can do whatever He wants, say whatever He wants, and affirm whoever He wants.
It is clear that the Father has given testimony to the credibility of His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Son of God, because God the Father has said so, "This is My Son in whom I am well-pleased." Since then, God is not a liar and therefore cannot lie, He must be believed, over and above anyone else, or one must blindly deny His existence at all.
Frankly, that is just incredible.
The foundation of moral life as God's truthfulness. - John Piper
