Fruitful

Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore, be zealous and repent. - Revelation 3:19

As we approach another anniversary, my wife and I find ourselves about to celebrate in a familiar, but also new location. Our first anniversary was spent in Starkville, Mississippi. The one before last was in Millburn, New Jersey. This one will be back in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. In between that first one in Mississippi and this one in Pennsylvania, there have been 29 differing "anniversary" locations, and with each residence there have been new challenges to face and a renewed energy to face them.

"Zeal" may be defined as "great energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or objective" and like many, we begin each year together zealously pursuing various objectives relating to the cause of Christ's Glory. We have been very blessed in that our purpose has grown and expanded through the years based upon the various opportunities that the Lord has placed before us. Yet, in all our passion for the cause of Christ, I wonder if (in 2026-27) we will be just as zealous for Christ Himself.

That is perhaps the greatest difference between a resolution and true repentance. May our location and the circumstances that have led us here be the soil from which continues to spring fruit for the Savior

Resolution One: I will live for God. Resolution Two: If no one else does, I still will. - Jonathan Edwards
