Justified?

All a man’s ways seem right to him, but the Lord evaluates the motives. - Proverbs 16:2

Justification can be good or bad, depending upon your perspective.
For example, justification in the biblical sense is a wonderful thing. It is the righteousness of Christ imputed to the regenerate sinner, the declaration of innocence by a just and holy God.
On the other hand, justification (when used to describe our motives behind less than stellar decisions or actions) can be a terrible thing. It is possible for a person to feel justified in what they say or do, but God not be glorified by their actions. Justification is not warranted in such circumstances, and they should then repent of their actions.
With God, the "why" of our actions will always weigh more than the "what"; therefore, it is always best to place both in His balance and let Him weigh them before you act.
An explanation of cause is not a justification by reason. - C. S. Lewis
