Last Words

If only I had someone to hear my case! Here is my signature; let the Almighty answer me. Let my Opponent compose His indictment. - Job 31:35

Last words are important, aren't they? I think so, for two reasons. First, because of what a person says and second, because of the one to whom the words are spoken.

What do you think will be your last words? The person who faces execution is usually asked if they have any. Since the time and moment of death is fixed, anyone facing execution would have an opportunity to consider what they wanted to say. On the other hand, most of us will never know which words will be our last.

What do we know? We know Who will be listening. God, Himself. If we could just realize this truth at every moment! God listens. God hears and He responds with wisdom, grace, love, and justice. Lord, may all my words, including my last words, be pleasing to You.
