Little children, we must not love in word or speech, but in deed and truth.... - 1 John 3:18

In one of my previous "working" lives, I was an accountant at a nuclear power plant. My big boss was an ex-Navy submarine commander and he ran the organization with military precision. I once came to his office with a problem and before I could even finish describing it he told me to get out. When I asked why, he smiled and said, "You are not paid to bring me problems. I have a lot of those. I need solutions!"
Well, I tucked my tail and tried to find a way to solve the problem, and when I returned, I attempted to present my proposal, but before I could even get the words out of my mouth, he said, "Make it happen." He then explained that they paid me a lot of money to fulfill my purpose and he trusted me to find a suitable solution.
Isn't this basically the same command that God gave us at the moment of our redemption? Our ministries, agencies, and churches are all good at rhetoric (and acronyms), but perhaps the Lord just expects us to "make it happen," to make disciples of all peoples, to finish the task!
No one can sum up all God is able to accomplish through one solitary life, wholly yielded, adjusted, and obedient to Him. - Dwight L. Moody
