Oppressed or Blessed?

He allowed no one to oppress them; He rebuked kings on their behalf: "Do not touch My anointed ones or harm My prophets." - Psalm 105:14-15

Sometimes God seems to be in "protection-mode" and yet sometimes He doesn't. Sometimes He appears to be blessing, and yet at other times, not-so-much. For example, while the Israelites were a small tribe roaming around in Canaan, God "allowed no one to oppress them; He rebuked kings on their behalf." However, after they moved on down to Egypt, God allowed them to be enslaved.

So, how do you feel these days? Oppressed or blessed?

God is sovereign over all our experiences (be they oppressions or blessings). He is also Lord over all those who do the "blessing and oppressing." Will oppressors be punished? Yes, in the end (if not before). Will blessers be blessed? Yes, ultimately (again, if not before). God loves His anointed ones and prophets. The person or persons who oppress them or seek to harm them are on dangerous ground, but that should not be our concern. Our desire must always be to give Him glory, whether we find ourselves oppressed or blessed.
