Praise the Praiseworthy

Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. - Proverbs 31:30

I love my wife.

No, I mean I really love her. She is so beautiful to me, inside and out. I believe that Cindy has the spiritual gift of service and for much of her life she used her gift of grace to bless other people (and, of course, her husband). She also happens to be one of the most unselfish people I have ever known, often giving her time and efforts just to be an aid to others. Alzheimer's Disease has limited her ability to do it as much as she did in the past, but the desire to serve remains.

I love Cindy, but she isn't perfect and frankly, I'm glad. If she was, then I wouldn't be fit for her! Together, we have wrestled and struggled and at times run through this life trying to please our Creator and Savior. It is just easy to see that Cindy loves Jesus, and this makes her worthy of all this praise.

So, I have said all this to say to the men who read this, that if God has blessed you in this way, may He continue. If not yet, then may He someday. Just be sure that if or when He does bless you with a wonderful wife to take time to praise her and the praiseworthy Lord who has blessed you.

Happy is the man who finds a true friend, and far happier is he who finds that true friend in his wife. - Franz Schubert
