Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy. Though one goes along weeping, carrying the bag of seed, he will surely come back with shouts of joy, carrying his sheaves. - Psalm 126:5-6

If our hearts are broken over the needs of this world then our tears will surely flow, but what might be one hopeful result of those tears?
The psalmist said that if we sow in tears, we will reap with shouts of joy. If this is true, then one result of our tears might be a harvest! If our hearts are truly broken over sinful disobedience and ignorance of God's truth, He might work through our tears to reach the lost. Brokenness can and should lead to action that results in Christ's Kingdom increase!
Weeping should lead to sowing and the tears we shed may then be used to water the soil of lostness, preparing it to receive the Good News of Jesus Christ. What a promise!
Let us, therefore, not be weary of well-doing; for we shall reap an eternal harvest of comfort, if we faint not. - George Whitefield
