The Only Faith That Works

And who is the one who conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? - 1 John 5:5

John previously wrote that we have victory because of our faith but, of course, faith in what?

People believe in a lot of things. Some believe that God is everywhere, inhabiting all the material world. Others believe that one person can have several lives, even seven or more. There are even those who do not believe God exists at all. Many people continue to believe in fetishes that hold special powers of protection against evil spirits.

Yet, in all their belief, is their faith able to save them, preserve them, give them eternal life?

No. Only faith in Christ is able to save. Jesus said it Himself and it is true (or He is a liar). He said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by Me." Simply put, if someone wants faith that brings the victory, then they must have faith in Jesus.
