Keep Moving

As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a source of spring water; even the autumn rain will cover it with blessings. - Psalm 84:6

It seems that each year (on my annual journey through the Scriptures) I inevitably pause and reflect on these words from David. The illustration is intended to picture someone who makes his way to worship God on the mount in Jerusalem, but along the way must pass through the "Valley of Tears."

The journey is difficult.

There is loss.

There is pain.

There are times when it seems we cannot go on, but the pilgrim's tears coupled with the unexpected blessing of autumn rains provide the refreshment we need to go on. Eventually, the goal is reached and God is worshipped and glorified. The mount of God's glory is almost always reached through the valley of tears.

Keep moving.

Tears are often the telescope through which men see far into heaven. - Henry Ward Beecher
